Signing in
Sign in with a password or a one-time email code — how it works, and why HTMLOL needs an account.
Two ways in, both quick: an email + password, or a one-time code sent to your email. New here? Just enter an email and a password and HTMLOL creates your account on the spot — three files free, no card.
Email & password
- Click Sign in, enter your email and a password (8+ characters), and hit Continue.
- New email? We create the account and sign you straight in — no confirmation step.
- Returning? The same email + password signs you in. Tap Show to check what you typed.
One-time code (no password)
Prefer not to deal with a password? Choose “Use a one-time code instead.” Enter your email and HTMLOL sends a six-digit code that verifies automatically as you type the sixth digit. It's also the “forgot password” path — sign in with a code, then set a new password any time from Settings → Account.
Give it a moment, then check spam. Request a fresh one, or use “Use a different email” if you mistyped. Wrong digits? The field clears so you can retry.
Why an account at all?
Editing and previewing are local and free — an account just lets HTMLOL count your files, remember your plan, and unlock paid features like sharing and email checks.
Your account & settings
Once signed in, your initials appear top-right. Open that menu and choose Settings — one page for everything about your account:
- Account — change your email (we send a confirmation link to the new address), set or change your password, and sign out.
- Subscription — your current plan, plus Manage subscription, which opens the secure Stripe portal to update payment, switch plans, or cancel.
- Preferences — make HTMLOL yours: a default editor view, what the + button does, and (on paid plans) a default brand. These follow you across devices.
- Danger zone — sign out of every device, or permanently delete your account.
